About Harwood Studios
Harwood Studios is based in Bearwood, Birmingham - but we have travelled far and wide to bring our own blend of the LifeStyle experience to our clients.
We believe that by providing you with the right environment for your studio experience, your unique personality will shine through and be reflected in your chosen media presentation. When we designed the studio process, we didn't just have the layout in mind. We provide each and every customer with the studio time that reflects your needs. With up to two hours of studio time at your leisure, we guarantee that the results will bring out emotions that you have probably not experienced before.
Now you may be aware of the fact that other studios are adopting the more naturalistic, LifeStyle appraoch to studio photography - so what makes us so different? The answer to this question is remarkably simple - but extremely effective. We adopt the LifeStyle approach to all of our projects, whether it be a wedding, a celebratory event or a commercial project. For example, we have many unique custom designed prints at our disposal. Now you may love the design, but the colour scheme that we have adopted does not match your own interior taste. Simply bring in a swatch of your preferred scheme and the design now becomes your own unique LifeStyle design. Every project is a total colaboration between you the customer and our own brand of modern contemporary LifeStyle design.

Services
At Harwood Studios, we don't like to use the term packages. Because package to us means restriction - and we want you to feel in control at all times. We just provide you with the means to get to where you want to be. We provide you with a bespoke service which will allow you to have your own persona stamped all over the end result.
We offer three main services:
1. Image Photography
Which primarily consists of studio based LifeStyle photography. But we also cater for disabled or elderly people who can't make it to the studio. Or maybe you just want to capture the moment in your own environment - the process is still the same. Whatever it takes to guarantee your comfort, we will guarantee the result.
- Consultation
This takes place at the booking stage and we believe this to be one of the most important phases of your photographic experience. We take the time to understand exactly what you are looking for from your session and maybe even suggest ideas to you that you have never before envisaged. We will then book your two hour time slot at a time that is most convenient for your LifeStyle. Although we do have business hours, we endeavour to be as flexible as possible to ensure the session is arranged to suit your own needs and committments.
- Photographic Session
On arrival at the studio, take a beverage and relax before your session begins. There are toys available in the studio to keep the kids occupied and give you the time to relax and unwind before the session starts. We endeavour to keep this time as your time, with no interruptions and no waiting time. Once the photography session begins, you will have ample time for a change or two of clothing if you desire. If you have props that you would like to bring along then that's fine. In our studio, we have had surfboards, dogs, cats, four foot tall cuddly gorrillas, there are no restrictions. We usually take in excess of 200 digital photographs during a session - so we really do utilise the time to its optimum and provide you with the maximum of choice. Once the session is completed, we will then arrange a preview booking with you for a time that suits - this usually takes place within the next few days depending on availability.
- Preview and Selection
Again, we will endeavour to make this session as personal and private as possible - because we guarantee that your emotions will get the better of you when you start to preview your LifeStyle images. Don't worry, we will provide the hankies. The session usually takes no longer than one hour and will result in you deciding on which range of product you require. Please see the prices section on our website to view the product range. Once you have selected and paid for your product we will then process your order.
- Collection
We prefer for you to collect your Image Photography product from our studio so that we can get instant feedback on your selection. But if preferred, we can offer a speedy and efficient delivery service to ensure that your selection arrives with peace of mind. Depending on the complexity of the order, we aim to deliver the product in no more than three weeks, but on average most goods are received within two weeks from the Prievew and Selection session.
The whole aim of this process is to provide you with the maximum support and attention that you deserve to get the result that you desire.
2. Weddings and Events
As each studio photograph is unique, so too every wedding and special event is unique. And again, the approach is the same - but the result is always individual. From the initial consultation through the rehearsals and onto the event and finally the delivery, we will be with you all of the way. One less thing to worry about in one of the most stressfull days of your life - to allow you to enjoy what should be the happiest day of your life. Our technique is simple and un-complicated, tried and tested to esnure optimum satisfaction guaranteed. We don't charge you a premium for having your wedding in the main summer months - why should you be penalised for your day in the sun. Our prices remain the same throughout the year. Yet again, another refreshing change. Our video coverage is second to none, utilising the latest HD cameras and technology to ensure maximum quality at a single standard price that our competitors simply can't rival. We simply will not charge you a premium for having two cameras in attendance at the service - we see this as a standard requirement in attaining an optimal quality production. Once the event is over, the unique nature of our business does not stop there. We have a massive selection of high quality albums for your selection, inclduing the latest totally custom designed albums which allows you to have an input in the look and feel of the end product from cover design through to the layout of the photographs. By utilising our unique approach to media presentations - your event will be truly unique. This does not mean that the traditions of the event will not be captured, only that for the first time you will be offered a choice - to capture the tradition and the emotionaly charged enjoyment of the day.
3. Digital Media Productions
This is one of our most diverse and imaginative services. Whether it be restoration of current video or photographic footage through to full blown LifeTime productions combining photography and video, our cutting edge Hardware and Software will bring any media back to life and breathe a breath of fresh air back into it.
- LifeTime Production
Over a LifeTime, we collect so much media it becomes increasingly difficult to keep track of it. Photographs from our childhood, the people that we have loved and lost, holiday videos, wedding videos, albums stuffed full of memories and music that signals passages in time that means so much to every one of us. With current technology, all of this media from a bygone era can be digitised and brought back to life. A LifeTime production is a perfect gift for anybody because our past experiences and history make us who we are today and should be celebrated. Average running times go from around one hour minimum upto epic proportions depending on the amount of digitised media. Again, this is a totally unique experience - of which we have given to hundreds of people and this is one product that never ceases to amaze us at Harwood Studios. It is a very emotional journey for most, but a treasured journey for all. A gift that will not be surpassed - guaranteed.
- Restoration
Whether it be an old photograph, video or audio format that has seen better days, we will attempt to bring the media back to life.
- Commercial Presentations and Designs
Harwood Studios can provide the perfect tools to enhance your business' marketing strategy. From image designs through to commercial photography and video for publicity literature we can provide a professional and cost effective service to get your own message accross. Our designs and techniques have applied a fresh new look to business' that have needed new direction - with dramatic results in both attitude towards the business and respective sales.
New projects are put in front of us weekly, so if there is something on your mind that you can't seem to get resolved - then bring it to Harwood Studios, we will endeavour to give you the best possible advice in achieving your goals.
Weddings
One of our main reasons for providing a wedding photography and video service was because of our own personal experiences with "specialist" wedding photographers. By paying a premium rate you can guarantee one thing - the same poses that they have shot thousands of times before and very little else. There just isn't the choice.
So we prefer to offer you total flexibility from album style through to persona defining photographic styles. We try to add the personal touch to our service that is missing from most other photographers. So please dont get sucked into the same mistake we have made in the past - the most expensive is not always the best.
We have price guidelines that are based on the time spent at any event plus the printing costs. But why should we offer you twenty 10" x 8" and twenty 7" x 5" prints in an album from our selection when you can tell us which type of album you prefer and arrange the layout exactly as you want with the sizes that you want.
All of your images will be provided to you on a dvd, that is yours to keep, just make a note of the reference code and then sit down with us and plan your album layout and sizes. Traditionally, costs can escalate when dealing with re-prints for family members - why? If you would prefer to have all of your images in high resolution digital format on a disk then ok. You can then get your re-prints at a much reduced level at other printing outlets. Alternativiely you can have all of your images authoured onto a DVD along with your favourite music and distribute this to friends and family members.
With our video service we offer just as much choice whilst maintaing a high level of quality in both service and production. As with your LifeStyle of photography we also apply the same principles to our digital media productions. It is important for us to put your stamp on every production whether it be in the footage shot or the style of post production and editing style. Utilising the latest HD camera technology and video editing/DVD authoring software we can ensure your memories and emotions will remain intact forever. And if you utilise both of our photographic and video services, you not only benefit with cost but you also ensure that both packages will compliment themselves.
